Shatta Michy Is Not a personal friend of mine,I don’t Know Her – Medikal

Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, widely known as Medikal, has firmly stated that Diamond Michelle Gbagonah, also known as Michy, the former partner of his colleague Shatta Wale, is not someone he considers a friend.

Medikal clarified during an interview on Asaase Radio’s Between Hours show with Keely Jade Brewer that while he knows Michy through media interactions, they do not share a personal relationship.

He explicitly mentioned, "I don't know her personally; we're not friends. I recognize her through media engagements but not on a personal level."

The misunderstanding between Medikal and Michy arose when Medikal commented on Shatta's parenting, asserting that Shatta pays for his son's education—a statement Michy contested.

Tensions flared at a blogger's event on April 29, 2023, where Medikal advised Michy to behave responsibly while being filmed, leading Michy to retaliate by using an expletive against the rapper.

“The first time I saw Shatta Michy was when Shatta Wale came with her to perform at a show of mine; my second time talking to her was when she had a camera on me talking to me that day. So I was surprised because there was no bad blood between us.”

“But I just overlooked what she did; it wasn’t that deep. If you look at that video, you will realise that I wasn’t aggressive or anything like that because I am a gentleman,” Medikal added.
