Ghanaian soccer player Christian Atsu remains trapped in the rubble of the Turkiye earthquake.

Portuguese media outlet A Bola reported on Monday night that he was pulled from the rubble alive and taken to hospital with difficulty breathing and an injured foot.




But Hatayspor's manager denied false reports that Christian Atsu was safe and said he was still trapped in the wreckage.




Christian Atsu is "trapped" after the earthquake in Turkey early Monday morning. The 31-year-old was trapped in a 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck on Monday.




Christian Atsu Twasam is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays for Turkish Süper Lig club Hatayspor and the Ghana national team.



He primarily plays as a winger, although he has also been deployed as an attacking midfielder.




Hatayspor, Atsu's current club, is located in the Turkish city of Hatay, which is believed to be one of the areas hardest hit by the incident.



In addition to Atsu, it was reported that the club's sporting director Taner Savut and an interpreter were also trapped after the earthquake.
