Big Akwes, a popular Ghanaian Kumawood actor, recently stirred up controversy by claiming that people born and raised in Kumasi are inherently scammers.  In an interview on Angel TV, he suggested that individuals in Kumasi, from leaders to average citizens, even pastors, are engaged in fraudulent activities.  "Everyone born and raised in Kumasi is a scammer; I firmly believe that. Whether leaders or common people, including pastors, they all engage in scams.  Just observe what the young men at Kejetia do with people’s phones... Ghanaian comedian SDK Dele has proposed that the 11 companies recently given mining licenses should face at least 10 years in prison. He argues that they should be treated the same as the protesters who were arrested, advocating for their swift apprehension. "I just found out that 11 licenses for illegal mining were issued," he said, calling for justice similar to what was meted out to peaceful demonstrators.
