The Ghanaian-American musician and social media influencer, Efia Odo, recently shared some profound thoughts about the challenges faced in Ghana. In an interview with Ghanaian TV station TV3 Ghana, specifically on #thedayshow with Bella Mundi on the 13th of December 2023, she highlighted the undeniable hardships many Ghanaians endure, particularly the youth.

Efia Odo expressed her concern about the intense toil that the youth undergo just to afford basic necessities, one of which she humorously pointed out is the popular local dish, waakye. Her comment, "We live in a country where we work hard just to buy waakye," resonated deeply with many individuals who understand the daily struggles of making ends meet in the country.

Furthermore, she delved into the broader socio-economic difficulties faced by Ghanaians, shedding light on the fact that the younger generation often finds themselves working tirelessly just to fulfill their fundamental dietary needs, without much left for other essential requirements. This statement mirrors the ongoing conversations and demonstrations by the "FIX THE COUNTRY GHANA" protesters, of which she is a member, advocating for substantial improvements in various facets of Ghanaian society.
