ABLEKUMA: 'The taxi driver seen on surveillance footage acted very intelligently'- Ex-Police Officer revealed.
The open air episode on Thursday killed a police Spear Corporal as scores escaped for their lives in the midst of irregular shootings from the looters.
The video footage demonstrated that the armed robbers had been following the van for a significant amount of time.
Soon after the bullion van parked at the Star Oil Fuel Station near the ECG office in Ablekuma Fanmilk, they launched an attack on it.
A police officer was brutally killed in a bullion van during the incident.
Many people have wondered why the taxi driver couldn't crash into the two robbers because they parked their motorbikes in front of him while he was buying fuel.
Yet, as per Mr Toobu who is Wa West Individual from Parliament (MP), the cabbie acted shrewd by trying to avoid panicking.
Even though the driver's action would have been applauded, the MP believes it was risky.
"It was smart of the taxi driver to remain calm." If he had hit the two of them with the motorcycle, the robbers who stole the AK47 could have killed him, but he might have thought about who would take care of his family if anything had happened.
He stated on Okay FM, which is based in Accra, "It was as if there was nobody in the car but he was probably in shock because the whole thing looked like a movie or a joke but it was a serious matter."
